Knowledge: what to upload
The bot answers from what you give it. What you give it decides whether it is useful or merely polite.
Start with the questions you already answer daily
Five to ten FAQs written the way you would say them out loud beat a fifty-page PDF. Parking. Whether children are welcome. What to bring. How long it takes. What happens if they are late.
Then point it at your site
Add the URLs for your menu, price list or collection page. They are crawled and re-crawled, so a price change on your site becomes a price change in the bot.
Do not add your whole site. A blog archive dilutes answers with prose that reads well and answers nothing.
Files
PDF and CSV. A CSV of products or menu items is much better than a PDF of the same thing, because the columns survive.
What not to upload
- Anything containing personal data about a customer.
- Internal pricing you would not tell a caller.
- Out-of-date documents “for reference” — the bot cannot tell that they are out of date.
Check it
The Ask a test question box in the builder runs a question against the indexed knowledge and shows the answer with its source. Use it before publishing, with the three questions you are asked most.
